English Premier League 2022/23: News, Stats, Scores, live Stream, TV Channel, TV Schedule and Fixture

The 2022–23 Premier League is the 31st season of the Premier League, and the 124th season of top-flight English football overall.

Arsenal are guaranteed to be top of the table at Christmas regardless of their result against Wolves on Saturday.

Manchester City's shock 2-1 home defeat to Brentford means the Gunners will have a five-point lead going into the World Cup if they can win at Molineux. The Bees, meanwhile, are into the top 10.

Newcastle United will hope to close the gap on City in second by beating Chelsea at St James' Park, while Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United will also bid to end the first part of this truncated season with a victory.

Below is the full Premier League table followed by a snapshot of each race.

Premier League title race

Manchester City and Arsenal continue to go back and forth atop the table. City reclaimed the lead temporarily with a last-gasp win over Fulham while a man down but were leap-frogged again by Arsenal as the Gunners pulled out a win at Stamford Bridge. Their defeat to Brentford allowed the Gunners to move five points clear by winning at Wolves.

Newcastle flipped above Tottenham into third, while both still appear to be the next echelon of challengers despite Man City manager Pep Guardiola hyping up five teams in a recent interview.

Champions League places & European places

The names that are the biggest surprises in the race for European places are Newcastle (4th) and Brighton (6th) as they continue their push up the table and one of them could nip a Champions League berth by season's end.

Manchester United also look like they have what it takes to make a top-four push, while Liverpool have serious ground to make up in 9th place.

Only the top four make it into the Champions League. Teams that finish 5th through 7th have a shot at Europa League and Conference League berths.

Premier League relegation

It's a jam of teams at the bottom of the Premier League with eight teams within four points of each other.

The pressure to avoid the drop has already seen new managers taking over at Aston Villa (Unai Emery) and Bournemouth (Gary O'Neil - interim), with Julen Lopetegui assuming the reins at Wolves during the World Cup break.

Nottingham Forest have kept faith with Steve Cooper, and Leicester are still backing Brendan Rodgers as they've won three of their last four to extricate themselves from the bottom three. Ralph Hasenhuttl's job security at Southampton has been called into question in the media as the Saints have fallen into the relegation zone.
